Dear Diary,

Happy (belated) Birthday to me! (& nana of corse!) I got a necklace from Debbie, $25 from nana, $21 from Barbie, and $20 from Aunt Mary. I haven’t gotten anything from mom and dad yet. Today me & Deb went to the mall and I got lime green nail polish, the new STP cd, a silverchair poster, a big ring, baretts, earrings, and a scrunchie. Big spenda! Oh yeah, and paper thingies that take the grease off your face. I really need thoes.

Audi! Julie

Dear 1996 Julie

Whoa baby! Way to spend all that birthday cash on a bunch of crap! Lime green nail polish?? Because you want to look like you’ve been picking your nose with all ten fingers?? I guess the scrunchie and grease papers were essential, because you’re face is oily and hair unruly at times, but lime green nail polish? Not so much. Clearly your “spending money on useless crap” problem started early.

Toodles, Julie
